Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services—including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence—over the Internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.  Cloud computing is an application-based software infrastructure that stores data on remote serves, which can be accessed through the internet. The front end enables a user to access data stored in the cloud using an internet browser or a cloud computing software.

Cloud computing services fall into 4 categories: infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), software as a service (SaaS) and FaaS (functions as a service). These are sometimes called the cloud computing stack, because they build on top of one another.
